Reviews that really help.

Most satisfied customers never write a review. Not because they don't want to, but because no one asked.

You collect useful reviews by asking for them shortly after delivery, with a direct link and a specific question instead of a general request. Ask everyone, not just who seems satisfied: selective asking is against the rules of most platforms and it stands out in the pattern.

STEP BY STEP

This is how you approach it

  1. Ask at the right timeShortly after delivery, when the result is fresh and the appreciation is highest. Three months later the feeling is gone and the effort is greater.
  2. Make it one clickSend a direct link to the review form. Each additional step halves the response rate, and 'look us up in Google' is three steps.
  3. Ask a specific question'What was your biggest concern beforehand and how did that turn out?' provides a useful review. 'Leave a review' results in 'great company'.
  4. Ask everyoneAlso to customers of whom you are not sure what they think. Selectively approaching only satisfied customers is not allowed on most platforms and can be recognized by the pattern.
  5. Don't rewardA discount or a gift in exchange for a review is against the rules and makes the reviews worthless. If you have to pay for praise, that praise means nothing.
  6. Respond to everythingAlso and especially to criticism. Prospective readers pay more attention to how you respond than to what it says: a calm, factual response to a complaint is more persuasive than ten stars.

PITFALLS

What not to do

Buying reviews or having them written by people you know is the fastest way to lose your credibility, and platforms are good at recognizing this.

Hiding criticism is also counterproductive. A profile with only five stars arouses suspicion; a few critical reviews with a polite response inspire confidence.

  • Don't buy or invent — irredeemable if convenient.
  • Don't ask selectively — against the rules and recognizable.
  • Don't reward — makes the review worthless.
  • Respond to everything — the response is often more convincing than the review.
  • Ask consistently — every delivery, without exception.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

More about reviews

How many reviews do I need?

A handful of real, recent reviews will do more than dozens of old or vague ones. Recency counts: a profile with only reviews from 2021 reads like a company that no longer does anything.

Can I ask a customer for a review?

Yes, you can ask. What is not allowed is rewarding or selectively approaching only satisfied customers. Ask everyone and accept the outcome.

What do I do with an unfair review?

Respond factually and without emotion, and offer to resolve it. If it is demonstrably false, you can report it: but don't count on it being removed and make sure your response is the real answer.
